Information about Lithuanian State Scholarships for one semester of studies at Lithuanian universities in AY 2026-2027.

If you are interested in the spring semester studies at VMU, you should
wait for the next call of application.

The deadline for the application is April 17, 2026.

One of the main required application documents is a Conditional Agreement (see
the attached form).

Please find the list of offered Lithuanian studies courses in the attached file.

Please note that 50% of the courses must be chosen from the list of the
Lithuanian studies area.

Undergraduate or graduate courses in other study fields can be found on the VMU
preliminary course catalogue.

PhD students are invited to contact us via e-mail juste.lenortaviciene@vdu.lt
and indicate the research area. The courses will be offered individually.


First, the applicants (students) interested in studies at VMU are required to
send these documents via e-mail juste.lenortaviciene@vdu.lt:

·       Transcript of Records

·       Certificate of Student Status (indicating the current year/semester and
expected date of graduation)

·       English Language Confirmation

·       Conditional Agreement signed by the responsible coordinator at the home
university

·       Expected Research Plan and CV (for PhD candidates only)


Please note that:

The State Scholarship programme does not require nomination of students.
Students’ GPA must be not lower than 70% of the maximum grade.
During the application, 2 semesters must be completed by an undergraduate
student/1 semester - by a graduate/PhD student. Last year students are not
eligible.
English language proficiency must be not lower than B2 level according to the
European language levels (or equivalent: TOEFL - 65, TOEFL IBT - 72, TOEFL ITP -
543, IELTS - 5.5, TOEIC - 785).
Art/music area courses are available only to students majoring in art/music.
Lecturers/researchers in the fields of linguistics or philology can apply for
the Lithuanian short-term studies (only for attending the courses of Lithuanian
studies). They are required to send the Conditional Agreement and the
Recommendation Letter via e-mail juste.lenortaviciene@vdu.lt.


If the VMU responsible faculty agrees to accept the candidate, then the
Conditional Agreement will be signed.

Only afterwards the candidate will be able to submit the online State
Scholarship application at the website of call listed above.
